Can you play hd dvds on regular dvd players?

I want to know if i can play hi def dvds on my 3 year old dvd player, or will i need to upgrade my dvd player?

    No, it takes upgraded equipment to play HD dvds.
    Be aware that HD and BluRay are two different technologies. They are as different as BetaMAX and VHS were to tapes and you must have the right machine for what you are playing.

    no because hd and blue ray dvd are dvd with compressed material on it and regualar dvd player just play dvd that are not compressed

    sorry buddy you cant you need a new laser reader or so you know what im talking about i refer to the little light under where you put the cd well you would need a more advanced one that could read the compact disc cd
