DVD VHS Combo Players

Do they use an HDMI port or the HD Cables?? Im curious b/c im getting an HDTV and upconverting dvd player soon.

I own a 46 inch full hd sony bravia tv and i wanted to buy sony full hd upscaling dvd player but i wanted to ask how good is the upscaling, will it actually be full hd when i put in a normal dvd? thanks for the help

Provided its only a regular DVD player but not HD or blueray, would connecting the unit via HDMI or Component video cable have much differences in visual quality ? Many people say they are identical since its not high definition so its not worth spending the extras for an expensive HDMI cable.

I’m planning to buy a home theater system and I want it to be able to play blue ray and regular or hd DVDs. Itd be ridiculous for blue ray players to only play blue ray DVDs. So does anyone know about DVD players that play both ?

I heard that certain dvd players convert standard DVDs into an hd signal for some TVS. How do they do that if what is on the dvd is only standard definition?
